Hooha for free food..

Today is a prime example of Michigan weather at it's finest/worst, depending on how you look at it. It started out blistering hot and sunny, and then in seconds turned into a thunderstorm--dumping buckets of rain. Unfortunately for me, I thought to myself this morning "I'll leave my windows cracked, so my car doesn't bake." Well, that didn't work out so well for me. I also had the sunroof open, so I'll see how it all faired when I get to the car at 5:00.

I got a free lunch today! One of my co-workers won a free taste-test meal for 8 people at Noodles & Company. The set out about 15 of their dishes for us to try, all for free! Pot-stickers, penne pasta, pesto maccaroni, and stuff like that. There was also a fish-based pasta with tofu...not so wonderful.

Last night, I had a meeting with Neil, my college pastor. I never anticipated it lasting for SIX HOURS. He took me to the Missions Committee meeting at South, telling me we'd be there for 10 minutes. An hour and a half later, we went golfing on the putting greens at Little Hawk...and then it was off to his house to look at some chairs. It was an interesting night. :D

This weekend we head up to the cottage. It will be interesting to see how many people show, because I still haven't been given a comprehensive list. I'm not impressed, as usual, with the organization of the college group. If I could do more, I would; but as for right now, I'm kind of stuck.

The forcast looks good, and I'm sure we'll have a good time.

It's been a while,.,

So, it's been a few days since I've posted anything. And I guess that is for two reasons:
1) I've been really, really busy at work
2) There isn't much to report

I did go to two weddings over the weekend, and I have another on Saturday this week. I'm going to be a little weddinged out, although the free meals are nice.

Work has been slightly overwhelming, due to the Chinese camps that we are preparing for. Pages and pages and pages of Chinese documents translated to English needed to be proofread, compilation of student passports and visa applications, and seemingly billions of checks floating around all over the place. It's been busy, which has actually been nice. I have to get back to work...

I bought my ticket...

Today I bought my ticket to San Francisco! It's going to be another crazy summer trip for me, reminiscent of my Mexico trip last year in terms of travel. The flight out isn't too horrible, but I am going through O'Hare and it's a late flight. The flight back though...this is where it gets interesting. I'll fly out of San Francisco at 7:20pm and go to Las Vegas, where I stay until 11:30pm, and then I fly out of there to O'Hare, where I have a 4 hour layover. I won't get back to Grand Rapids until 8:30 in the morning! By taking a cheap flight, I certainly am paying the price in terms of time. I got the flight for $243.00 ...I guess I shouldn't ask for a better price than that.

My friend Steve has an internship with Motorola in Sunnyvale, which is near San Jose, just south of San Francisco. I told him I would go out and visit him with another friend, who backed out. That's fine, we'll have a good time. So, I will be gone from July 19th to the 24th. I will probably use my birthday money to cover part of the trip.

Well, I'm still working on the study abroad thing. I got my application today, and I'm trying to get it all filled. Hopefully, things will come together smoothly. Guess that's all for now!

Over the weekend

Last night I drove down to Chicago to visit Jerrod. I'm going to stay here until Sunday morning, and then head back home. I think we're going to go downtown tomorrow and see some stuff/travel around.

The car issue has me very, very paranoid. I was on edge the whole 4 hour drive... I think the problem is less with the alignment and more with my shocks. I feel every bump in the road, which makes my entire car shake. I got on to some newly paved roads in Illinois, and there was no vibration. This should hopefully put my mind at ease for the ride home.

Well, hopefully Aryn and Tim had a good time in Hawaii, and Bren and John are coming up Thursday, which should be a good time. The summer is definitely in full swing!
