From Farmers to Time Travel to Super Spy...this is my life

Did my farm interview today...I'm not sure how much I really got done. This morning I went to a centennial farm and took a tour. I got to ask some questions about soil types, rotations, and tillage, so that was good. Now I just have to put together how to interpret it all. And that's the biggest challenge... :o/

I also went to see "Meet the Robinsons," which was surprisingly entertaining. Overly caffeinated scientists and tall guys that look like Waluigi make me laugh quite a bit. Then there was burgers at Andy and Rachael's...and dealing with WOW...this game is taking over the world. But oh well, I refuse to be sucked in. Mission Impossible III is a good movie...if you haven't seen it, go see it.

Tomorrow I have that meeting at Dr. Bernsten's house. I get Philippino food, and hopefully I'll get some idea as to what will happen with a possible internship. Wow...it's becoming more and more real that I'm going to be able to go! I will have to wait and see what happens with my Soil Physics class. I thought I would upload some pictures of the university:

The Science Building:

Perty cool, eh? I think so. Everyone I know who has spent some time in Los Banos has loved it. Dr. Bernsten, Russ Freed, and one of the guys in my class has had nothing bad to say about it, and I am very, very excited about this! I'll be sure to report in on Monday!

March 29

I JUST FINISHED MY LAB REPORT! It ended up at 17 pages, and I really don't think it's that good. You try your best, and hope for the best grade you can. I've put about 10 hours of work into it, so who knows?

Today is going by really fast...I guess that is what productivity does. Lisa and Abby left today, and there is no one here to keep me from being productive, so I actually got some stuff done.

I checked out some flights to the philippines for October yesterday, and it looks like it would be smart for me to fly out of Seattle! That's really cool because then I would get to stay a few days out there with my sister before leaving the States for six months. It actually turned out to be about the same price for me to fly out to Seattle and catch a flight from Seattle to Manila later on. So that is the plan, assuming that I go. It's so strange how things are starting to come together...like it's really going to happen.

Well, that's it for today...I've got some stuff to do.

New start...again

So, I've cleared all my old posts, and am back on the blogging wagon...Again. I don't know how many times I'll have to start this thing over before I finally get it where I want to.

Bible Study was amazing last night. God did some cool work, even as the topic seemed to be so far above our heads, but yet we talked for a full 90 minutes. I don't know how exactly "life changing" it was for anyone in the group, but I think God works in peoples lives in different ways.

I have that meeting/dinner to go to on Sunday for my semester in Los Banos, Philippines. I'm pretty excited about this, because I'm finally going to get some new info! Dr. Bernsten (my advisor for all of this) returned from asia about a month ago, hopefully after circulating my resume to IRRI and a couple of other biotech institutes out there. I am hoping that this blog will be used for that trip, and I'll be over there a year from now...

Chinese learning is going well, it's always interesting... If you want to hear me attempting to learn chines, check out http://msuconfuciusinstitute.org/podcasts/ . It's always a challenge. But hey, I'm getting paid to learn...and it's an opportunity that I'm grateful for.

Well, I guess that's it for today's addition. Peace.
